CMS or Content Management Systems allow website owners the ability to manage their own content without having to learn HTML, XML or any of a dozen other tools that website developers typically use. All you have to do is login to your website's CMS dashboard, go to the page you want to edit and begin typing content into predefined areas within that page. You can also import your own images as well.

If there is a downside to using a template based CMS, it's that along with the freedom to update your own web pages using such a CMS comes a fairly significant limitation in flexibility with regard to content placement on the page, i.e. what you can and can't do regarding layout. CMS templates are highly structured pages with specific areas where text or image content can be placed. For website owners who are OK with this limitation, CMS templates are an excellent and very affordable solution.

Empoweringeducation.org is a new Colorado nonprofit focused on education. When they came to us they needed a site up fast and they wanted the ability to edit their own content as some of the language was still in the developmental stages. They wanted to do some content trials to see what worked best. They indicated that at some future date that they would likely migrate their site to a more conventional custom design but for now, fast and editable was what they needed.

For those who desire a template driven site, we have a large catalog of template based websites that can be setup sometimes in as little as 24 hours, providing the client has content ready to go.
